TIME: 2:00 PM

Experience the vibrant legacy of jazz in the heart of Queens this summer! Inspired by the iconic Queens Jazz Trail Map, this free concert series brings the borough’s rich jazz history to life in beautiful community parks—where legends like Armstrong, Coltrane, Fitzgerald, and more once called home.

Led by Venezuelan-born violinist Alí Bello, The Charanga Syndicate infuses the rich traditions of Cuban charanga with the energy of New York’s Latin jazz scene. A product of El Sistema and known for his virtuosity and improvisational flair, Bello leads this dynamic ensemble of flute, violin, and rhythm section in a fresh take on a classic sound—blending infectious melodies, danceable grooves, and contemporary edge to captivate both traditional and modern audiences.

The concert will be held at the Unisphere in Flushing Meadows Corona Park, Flushing, NY. It’s free—just show up! Bring a blanket, lawn chair, picnic, friends—even your dancing shoes—and join us for an afternoon of live jazz in the park!
